Science has made man Lazy and Dull Essay for students in 600 words// Science a Boon or Curse
Science has made man
Lazy and Dull
Introduction: Science has made our life easy.
Computers, internet, mobile phones etc. have made our life fast and convenient.
Although technological development is good and necessary for development of any
country but it is also responsible for making man lazy. Before the introduction
of machinery man used to work with his hands. But after the introduction of
machinery, he became totally dependent on it. Now a day without machinery, man
cannot work.
Science has made people lazy: Science and technology has made people lazy because earlier we used to do our work manually but now we are mare dependent on the new technology rather than ourselves and anyone else. We get panic if any of our devices fails. It happens because we are forgetting doing work manually. Our day begins with the alarm of a clock (a machine), instead of the first rays of the sun. Now while sitting with the family or friends or while travelling, people can be seen talking on the phones, the can be seen pressing the buttons of their cell phones or using headphones. If a man needs any information regarding anything, he would trust machine (internet) and find it easier rather than any human being. There are many inventions which contribute to our laziness. Fast food means that we don’t bother to cook. Paper dishes and canned drinks mean that we don’t even have to wash up after eating. We have washing machines, vacuum cleaners, elevators and other various gadgets to make our lives immeasurably easier and comfortable but infinitely lazier. We can take one of the very common examples which we face in banks. If the printer is not working in the banks, the staff refuses for updating customers’ passbooks manually. Even while operating television, stereo or VCD etc. no one can live without remote. In case our remote control fails, we start getting irritated. Neither we want to cook food nor do we want to go out. We need to make just a phone call for home delivery and food is ready. We can shop for anything. It simply needs a phone call, home shopping is at our door. These are just a few examples.
Negative effects: Due to laziness and dullness rate of
obesity is increasing not only in adults but also in kids or children.
Now-a-days children sit in front of computers for long hours. They are busy
with computer games and infront of other entertainment on computers. They spend
much less time in playing outside. Due to less physical activities, problems of
obesity, sickness, loss of immune power sleeplessness, joint pain, muscular
pain etc. are increasing fastly in the people of all age groups.
Conclusion: No
doubt science has made our life easy going, but it has also spoiled it. But in
fact it is not the fault of science, it is the fault of man. It is the fault of
the way, we are using science. Science made machines to help man, not to become
its (machinery) slave. For instance, computer is made to do the
work-faster, but incase it fails, we stop doing our work and sit idle, till it
is repaired. Whose fault is this? We have become lazy. We don't want to do any
work manually. In the same way, even for walking distance, we don't go without
bike or any other vehicle. So instead of
blaming science and technology, we need to change our habits. We should use
machinery only when it is important. We should try to do some work manually.
Instead of going to gym, we should do natural physical activities/work. Before
laziness and dullness kill us, we should kill them. If we want to live a
healthy life, we will have to change our habits. We
will have to go back to nature (natural ways of living) today or tomorrow.

good or evil in and of itself; it’s all about how people choose to use it” -David Wong.
